I am interested in people and objects as an observer – one might call me a street photographer (even when I am photographing nature) – and I like to think of myself as an unobtrusive spectator (this may be why I most frequently use a small Leica camera rather than a big, bulky DSLR), attempting to capture (in my limited way) the “decisive moment”. My prints are made from digital negatives by contact printing using either silver gelatin fiber-based papers or the platinum-palladium (mostly platinum) process using Arches Platine 310 paper. All of my prints are 8 x 10 inches. The current images are from an ongoing project that I call “1 + 1”, two people or objects that are sometimes connected and sometimes not, but that find themselves in close juxtaposition in my viewfinder. For people, they may not even aware of each other and whose association may only be within the frame of the pictures I take.
